Of course I love love love many of the other women from SNL, but Kristen Wiig holds a special place in my heart. See, I don’t think she is literally the funniest woman to ever be on SNL (I think that is between Rachel Dratch and Amy Poehler); however, Kristen Wiig has been in the SNL cast during a very formative time in my life. I’ve been watching SNL from a very young age (probably too young), but I really really got into it during high school. I think it started when Shelby and I became crazy obsessed with The Lonely Island/Andy Samberg in particular. Anyways, you know how they say SNL goes through eras? Well around then (2008), the Kristen Wiig era began, and she became one of the stars of the show. This is when characters like Judy Grimes (the travel expert) and Sue (the over-excited friend) became well-known and recurring. It was then that I really started to appreciate Kristen Wiig. Like many cast members of SNL, Kristen definitely embraced a funny-weird sense of humor, rather than a funny-haha sense of humor.

For my awkward 15/16 year-old self, this was so helpful. Watch SNL every week and laughing hysterically at Kristen’s off-the-wall characters made me feel like it was okay to be weird. Seeing her success really gave me the confidence I needed to develop my own sense of humor and in that, my own sense of self.

So thank you to Kristen Wiig for showing me that my ridiculous facial-expressions are not a bad thing. I’m going to miss her so much on SNL, but I know that she has wonderful things in her future, and I cannot wait to see where she goes.

Can we slow this vehicle down a little?

Yesterday I was in the car with my Dad when he told me that he really wants to sell the house and move. This wasn’t really unexpected news to me, with my brother at boarding school and me at college, it’s really not necessary for my parents to be living in this 4 bedroom house alone.

The thing is, I really really really don’t want them to move now. It won’t happen because the market is bad and they would lose a ton of money, but my Dad saying this still really made me freak out.

I told him that even though I don’t live at home, all of my friends live in the area and there is still so much here that I care about. He agreed but also told me that before I know it, all my friends and I will be graduating college, getting jobs and scattering across the country…waa waaa.

I know that I’m not always going to live near my friends and I’ll lose connections along the way, it just scares me that I could be putting effort into friendships that may one day not exist. Ugh I think it’s just school ending and exhaustion bringing out all these ridiculous emotions.

I’m gonna go back to my life of stalking british gingers/boy bands…If I keep up this addiction, I’m not even going to have to worry about losing connections with friends because I won’t have any.

Probably my three favorite redheads other than Miranda Hobbes.

But I cannot stress enough how good Flo was and how strange/fun last night was.

Agreed. She was absolutely magical. When she charged toward us and then pointed directly at the three of us I almost lost it!

Such a great night! I love these two pale pals!

Finals…blerg.
